Welcome to Loqui Events, your go-to place for making friends and creating memories.
My journey began in the warm, bustling home of my grandparents in Iceland, where family, friends, and even newcomers were always welcomed with open arms. I was born in Akureyri and raised in Hafnarfjörður, surrounded by the unique beauty of Icelandic nature and the strong sense of community that defines our culture. Their unconditional hospitality taught me the values of openness and connection, shaping my vision for a place like Loqui Events.

However, turning that vision into reality stemmed from my own challenges when I moved to Norway at 18. Starting from scratch without friends, language skills, or a clear direction, was daunting. I loved the idea of connecting with Norwegians and have since found incredible Norwegian friends, but let's be honest, breaking into social circles here, especially as an outsider, is tough. My lucky break came when I was warmly welcomed at a local gym in Sandnes called City Gym, where I began to slowly make friends.

After three years in Rogaland, I moved to Oslo and faced the daunting task of starting over once again. Each move taught me more about the necessity of having a community where you don’t just feel like the odd one out searching for friends. I was fortunate to find great workplaces, started studying, and gradually met some of the best people who would become my friends. Through all this, I realized that not everyone is everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s perfectly okay.

At Loqui Events, we want to make it easier for everyone to find someone who matches their vibe, whether you're looking for a workout buddy, a travel companion, a coffee friend, a party partner, or just someone to exchange memes with during work breaks.
